4. “Big 5” Safari & Sun City
Early morning departure for Pilanesburg National Park This is South Africa’s fourth largest game reserve and boasts the Big Five. In the afternoon we drive to Sun City, which is built in the heart of an extinct volcanic crater. After lunch you could try your luck at the casino tables or spend some time at the impressive “valley of the waves”.

5. Sterkfontein Caves & Soweto
Visit the Sterkfontein Caves; a UNESCO world heritage site, in the area known as the “Cradle of Humankind”. These caves are credited with famous archaeological discoveries such as “Mrs Ples” and “Little Foot”. After lunch, we travel to Soweto for a township tour that reflects on the “apartheid” history of South Africa, visiting the Hector Pietersen Museum, Nelson Mandela’s “Matchbox” House, the Vilakazi Street and the Regina Mundi Catholic Church.

In Pretoria, we reflect on the “Afrikaner” history, visiting the Union Buildings, Church Square, Paul Kruger House and the Voortrekker Monument. Lunch on route to township tour of Soweto that reflects on the “apartheid” history of South Africa, whilst visiting sites such as the Hector Pietersen Museum, Nelson Mandela’s “Matchbox” House, Vilakazi Street (the only street in the world to have had two Nobel Prize winners as its residents) and the Regina Mundi Catholic Church.
